Everett McLean is a seasoned litigator and trusted adviser focused on employment law. He represents employers in high-stakes matters in state and federal court and in arbitration, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, pay equity, wage-and-hour issues, and California Private Attorneys General Act actions. With a strategic approach to dispute resolution, Everett regularly advises clients on a wide range of employment issues, helping them address complex workplace matters proactively to reduce risk and avoid costly, time-consuming litigation. He has a proven record of achieving favorable outcomes through skillful prelitigation negotiations, targeted mediation, and dispositive motion practice.
Everett has negotiated and drafted settlement agreements resulting in dismissal of all claims with prejudice. He leads internal investigations, conducts witness interviews, prepares mediation briefs, and manages settlement negotiations from start to finish. He also counsels clients on employee separations and prepares release agreements with careful attention to detail to promote enforceability and protect clients’ business objectives.
